A Seneca East teacher, Kasi Turek, was an award winner as a special education teacher at the State Support Team 7's annual banquet.
The Seneca East 5th and 6th grade writing club began meeting after school in March. They met each Thursday and created several writing projects that kept them very busy. One of the activities the students participated in was getting to know some very special residents at the Tiffin Ruffing Nursing Home. Students began by visiting and interviewing residents and then proceeded to create “life” books that showcased each resident’s life. On the final visit, students shared ice-cream with the residents as they proudly presented each book to their new friends.
A big thank you goes out to the nursing home for allowing us to interview the residents and welcoming us with open arms. The students absolutely loved visiting and enjoyed playing bingo as well! Thank you Seneca East 5th and 6th grade writing club! You have made us all proud!
