On Sunday, April 26, 2015 the Seneca East PBIS team hosted the 1st Annual 5K & 1K at Seneca East Local Schools. The event's purpose was to bring the community and the school together. We also wanted to raise awareness of our PBIS program at Seneca East. PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports. The program brings a positive school climate to Seneca East by reinforcing and teaching positive behaviors. We had a great turn out for the 5K, which had 117 participants. Our 1K Fun Run had 69 runners.
The top finishers for each category are listed here.

On Thursday April 23rd Seneca East fifth grade students presented a music program “Save the Earth.” This program involved ALL 77 fifth grade students who taught the audience about recycling, reducing waste, and conservation through singing, dancing, speaking parts, and instrument playing. Emily Siesel from Mrs. Suaber’s class designed “Save the Earth” T-Shirts and numerous volunteers crafted other costumes and props out of recycled material. Students had a great time presenting both a musical and educational program! Bravo, fifth graders!
